Woman accused of dumpster diving to steal identity, go on buying binge
Denise Jackson was recently arrested for identity theft in Shreveport. She went through the dumpster in her apartment complex to get the personal information of another resident. Denise then used the information to go on a $7,000 spending spree.
They say she rummaged through a trash can outside an apartment complex and stole another woman's identity.
Caddo Parish sheriff's investigators say Denise Jackson, 32, has admitted she and a friend went through the trash and found personal information about a woman.
That information was later used to fraudulently obtain two credit cards in the woman's name.
Sheriff's investigators said Jackson and others used the credit cards to charge more than $8,600 in items like clothing, shoes and hotel stays.
More arrests are likely, deputies said. View the video online at
