ConfiData, a secure document destruction company servicing Albany, Utica, Syracuse, Binghamton, and surrounding areas, acquired the Onondaga County-based shredding company, Shred Solvers, in July of 2018. Shred Solvers, Inc. was founded in 2009 by Jim VanAuken and has since been Central New York’s trusted source for business and residential shredding needs.

ConfiData worked with Shred Solvers on numerous projects over the years including, Onondaga County’s Annual Shred Event. “Whenever they had a large volume job, Shred Solvers reached out to us. It was a great partnership, and we asked if they ever were to sell to keep us in mind,” says Rob Shauger, Director of Sales and Development at ConfiData.

As a result of the acquisition, ConfiData gained 2 additional mobile shred trucks, and a fantastic employee, Randy. Rob Shauger, was excited to add Randy to the team, “Randy’s clients love him and many asked if he would still be servicing their accounts. So much of what we do today is all about the personal relationships and having Randy come on board was a huge part of continuing that.”

What does this mean for current Shred Solvers customers?

ConfiData has made every effort to make the transition as seamless as possible for current Shred Solvers customers. Current customers will still see Randy’s smiling face, albeit in a new uniform.
